The Arrowood Business Association has won the 2018 Blue Diamond Award in the Community Outreach category for its work with Alignment Southwest Charlotte for their “cradle to career” community outreach program for Olympic High School, Kennedy and Southwest Middle Schools and the six elementary schools in the Steele Creek area. Through various partnerships with businesses and community organizations, Alignment Southwest Charlotte develops technical talent by creating a sustainable platform for ongoing collaboration and support to students and schools.
The Blue Diamond Award celebrates the Charlotte region’s best in technology, innovation and talent. It is an annual event organized by the Charlotte Area Technology Cooperative. The Community Outreach is given to the organization, individual or students(s) that “has demonstrated value through a volunteer non-fee based community support outreach program.”
